What is more fun than watching your little one start to pull up, climb, and develop their motor skills? It really is the best. When I first learned about Montessori play gyms, I knew it would be such a fun and great toy for Luca. I did a lot of research on different brands and pieces, and finally landed on the Lily & River Montessori Play Gym. Specifically we have the Little Climber, or Pikler Triangle in Montessori terms, and Little Rocker. These two pieces make up the Little Pro Set by Lily & River.
We decided to get our Montessori play gym pretty early, before Luca was even one year old. I had heard from friends with older kids that they wished they had gotten theirs sooner. I really wanted to have something for Luca to practice pulling up on and more. The Little Rocker is recommended for ages 18 months – 12 years, however, with supervision, your little one can even use it earlier to crawl under, pull up on or you can rock them on the padded surface if you’d like. The Little Climber, or Pikler Triangle, is recommended for ages 6 months – 5 years. So both pieces really do grow with your little one!
Lily & River Montessori play gyms come in a few different color options, but I chose the natural with white and I love it. All of Lily & River products are made to be safe for children, including child-safe sealant on the wood products. The play gyms are made in the USA and use bamboo, ash hardwood, and natural birch. Lily & River also plants a tree for every product purchased 🙂

Check out my Lily & River Montessori Play Gym YouTube Review & Tips video below. In the video, I share even more statistics and details on the play gym, including dimensions, weight limits etc. I also have included in my YouTube review a bunch of other ways to use the play gym to be even more fun and educational for your little ones. You can scroll to between minutes 4-6 for most of these tips if you don’t want to watch the whole video, but it does include a lot of info and I even show my son playing on it. In these videos he was just under one year old for reference.
Overall, we are very happy with the quality of our Lily & River Play Gym. I love all the ways Luca can play with it and how it grows with him and will continue to grow with him. The pieces look great in our home as well. If I had to come up with a con, the only thing I would say is that the pieces are big so they do take up quite a bit of space. The Pikler Triangle, or Little Climber, does fold up to be stored away which is great. The Little Rocker unfortunately does not fold up. We currently don’t have a designated play room so have ours in our living room. I can’t wait until we have a play room so that Luca can get even more use out of his Montessori Play Gym!
